What is a carving club?

Mel's Carving Club is a subscription-based club for both new and experienced carvers, and anyone looking to learn! Members get exclusive, unique blanks delivered to their door every other month, as well as access to a global community of carvers. We share tips, tutorials, have Carve-Alongs (live online classes) as well as occasional meet ups for our local members. Being a member means you get to learn new projects throughout the year with access to perks, discounts and info you wouldn't get otherwise! It's a ton of fun and we hope you can join us!

What kinds of subscriptions do you offer?

 SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS:

Does the Monthly Subscription Box include tools?

No. Mel's Carving Club Subscription Carving Blank Box does not include any tools. You can email us to add tools to your box or purchase them online and leave us a note at checkout to have them shipped together with your box. If you are a beginner, we recommend the Starter Tool Set. It contains three essential tools you'll need to get started: a spoon gouge, a carving knife and a bench hook to secure your piece.

Where can I buy the recommended tools?

We'll send out a newsletter in advance of each project with a list of tools required. All tools can be purchased here.

If I buy other items with my subscription when will I receive them?

Any items or tools ordered with your subscription will be shipped with your first box, unless otherwise requested. If you'd like to receive them in advance, please email us at hello@melanieabrantes.com

What is your refund/return policy?

We have a strict no cancellation/refund policy. As a small business we purchase and make all our materials in advance just for you, so subscriptions cannot be cancelled mid-session. In the event that you need an address change or for us to hold your boxes until you can receive them, please email us at hello@melanieabrantes.com

What if I want to change my subscription during the year?

We make our blanks and kits just for you, so unfortunately we cannot accept membership changes mid-session. If you think you might want to switch from Beginner to Advanced after a few months we suggest signing up for the Beginner Spring session and then switching to Advanced in June, when Fall sign ups open.

I want to purchase this subscription as a gift. How does that work?

It's easy! Simply add the subscription you'd like to your cart and when you get to checkout enter the recipient's address in the Ship To section. This will ensure all projects are sent directly to them. We can also email you a gift note to print out in lieu of the physical box! Once you've given the gift and your recipient is in the loop, please email us to make sure they get added to our newsletter so they can stay connected with any Club updates.

Are we going to have Zoom classes every other month?

Yes! Zoom classes will be held every other month several weeks after the projects are shipped out. If you miss a class, don't worry! You can access them directly on our Mel's Carving Club page.

Do you accept international orders?

Yes! In order to save on shipping costs and packaging, please note that all of your projects will ship together at the beginning of your subscription. You will receive digital copies of all our instructions as we work on each project! Please also note that we may need to charge you an extra shipping fee due to global shipping costs, which we will determine after you've placed your order.

Can I use the FREE SHIPPING code on my subscription?

All projects now include free shipping for US orders (ask for international shipping costs). Note that additional products and tools added may be subject to shipping charges.
