These past few months have been so busy but also so fun for the team at Melanie Abrantes Designs! After going to New York Now in August, we began preparing for our trip to the 2019 London Design Fair, which was held at the Truman Brewery.
As mentioned in the last blog post, I decided to debut more designs of the MARAIS vase, which I was able to work with Jason Stropko to create. After deciding on our favorite glass color and wood/cork combinations, we have created a beautiful set of MARAIS vases that I was so excited to bring to London.
We packed everything very carefully for London and were headed off the airport early in the morning!
It was a thrill to be able to be part of the MILK booth at the London Design Fair. As this is my first time in London, I was especially excited to debut such a special project to a foreign country that I wanted to explore. My sister Melissa also came to help me set up and run the business at the Fair!
My sister, Melissa Abrantes! She did an amazing job helping me during the show! She lives in Houston, Texas normally, so I was incredibly grateful she took the time to help her little sister during her first show abroad!
Flowers by London florist, Hattie Fox owner of That Flower Shop.
We met so many other creative and talented artists at the fair, and I was so inspired by all of the beautiful works that others created. Overall the show was a huge success and we had so much fun to boot! We cant wait to do another show abroad, maybe Milan Design Week is calling our names? ;) Stay tuned to find out more!
