Marais Vase

In every Marais vase, the materials -- colored glass and bleached hardwood -- combine to create an object that is both art sculpture and functional. Inspired by the natural beauty of the raw material, Abrantes designed each piece to speak for itself.

We named the vases after after these infamous AAPI women: Patsy and Grace.

  • Patsy Vase
Inspired by Patsy Mink, the first woman of color and first Asian American woman to serve in Congress. She was a champion of women's rights, an early and vocal opponent to the Vietnam War, and a leader on issues involving education, the environment, welfare, and civil rights.

    • Grace Vase
    Inspired by Grace Lee Boggs, a Chinese-American civil rights and labor activist. Her support for causes such as the Black Power movement, feminism, and the environment spanned over 70 years.

    Care Instructions: For bleached pieces, avoid getting wet and only clean with a microfiber cloth or 320 grit sandpaper. Glass should be hand-washed only.

      Gorgeous and clever

      We love the design of this vase with the ability to remove the top and change the water midweek to refresh the flowers without damaging the blooms. It's a lovely combination of glass and wood, delicate but solid.
