Marais Vase Collection | Watercolor Marais

The Watercolor Marais vases combine hand-dyed hardwood and colored glass to create objects that are both sculpture and functional vase. Inspired by the natural beauty of raw materials, Melanie Abrantes designed each piece to speak for itself. Each vase is named after an inspiring woman.

Each vase is turned from a single solid piece of maple and then dyed by hand. During dyeing, the pigments separate and travel organically through the water, so every vase comes out different, in shades of midnight, crimson and sand.

Kamala Vase (Midnight)
Inspired by Kamala Harris, the first female vice president of the United States and the first African American and first Asian American vice president.
