About the Maker:

Tosa cutlery crafting is found in Kochi prefecture and has been passed down from the beginning of the Edo period (circa 1603). Making use of traditional techniques, bladesmith Satoshi Yamashita took a request from his children to make a knife without a pointed tip so that they could use it themselves to sharpen their pencils. That was how the whale-shaped knife came to fruition.

Made in Japan.
